Neomill Permanent Magnetic Chuck for Heavy Milling and Grinding

The Neomill permanent magnetic chuck is a high-performance and structurally stable solution for effective fixation of ferromagnetic workpieces during milling, drilling, planing, and heavy surface grinding. This chuck excels in extreme rigidity, with the pole plate, frame, and steel body of the magnet being firmly mechanically connected into a single monolith. Thanks to this, it reliably withstands high forces during chip machining and dampens vibrations. Because it does not require an electrical connection for operation, it functions completely autonomously and generates no internal heat. This completely eliminates thermal expansion, ensuring constant dimensional and shape accuracy of workpieces without any risk of their release during a power outage.

Extreme clamping force of neodyme with optimal transverse poling

The main advantage of the Neomill series from the traditional Czech manufacturer Walmag is its top-of-the-line magnetic system equipped with very strong neodymium magnets, which generate an enormous clamping force of up to 160 N/cm². This is up to 80% more than conventional magnetic chucks with fine pole pitching. The top plate features specific cross-pole pitching with a pole spacing of 11 mm steel and 4 mm brass (or epoxy), which ensures safe and deep penetration of the magnetic field even into materials with rougher surfaces. The completely waterproof construction reliably withstands the aggressive effects of cooling emulsions and hot metal chips. With robust mechanical switching and a high limit for repeated regrinding, you gain a durable and virtually maintenance-free device for your tool shop or CNC operation, with guaranteed stability for a wide range of workpiece sizes.

      Neomill and AR-STAL

At the MSV trade fair in Brno, I came across your company Walmag, and when you explained the capabilities of your clamping systems and offered a free trial of any magnetic chuck, I didn't hesitate and went to try it out. Already when first clamping a workpiece to the chuck, I sensed a difference from the original one (even after a slight tap on the workpiece, it didn't budge an inch). The results of the chuck testing made me extremely happy; its added value for our production was absolutely clear. We immediately acquired a Neomill magnetic chuck in size 600x200, thanks to which we are now able to easily produce even workpieces that previously posed problems with their clamping. The biggest advantages of the chuck: speed of clamping the workpiece, ability to clamp even irregular shapes, enormous holding force. What amazed me as a customer was your company's approach. We had a magnetic chuck borrowed from you, and when we ordered "our own," I was told that you would let us keep your magnet on loan until delivery – and that's something you don't see very often these days.

Thank you very much for your approach and we wish you many satisfied customers. We are certainly among them.

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are your products made in the Czech Republic? Are your products made in the Czech Republic?

Yes, the entire process – from in-house development through design, production, to final assembly and testing – takes place directly in our plant in Kroměříž. This gives us full control over quality and allows us to flexibly tailor products to specific customer requirements.

What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems? What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems?

Permanent Magnets: Operate without electricity, activated mechanically by a lever. They are safe, mobile, and maintenance-free.
Electromagnets: Generate a magnetic field using coils powered by mains electricity. They possess immense strength, can clamp uneven surfaces, and allow force regulation, but require a constant power supply and backup sources.
Electro-permanent Magnets: Combine the advantages of both systems. They only require electric current for a fraction of a second for activation (magnetization) and deactivation. During operation itself, they do not need current, making them extremely safe even in the event of a power outage and preventing overheating.

Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures? Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures?

Conventional permanent magnets lose their strength at temperatures above 80 °C. However, for operations with higher temperatures, we offer special series (e.g. HOT lifting magnets) that can safely handle materials with temperatures up to 180 °C.

Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining? Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining?

Ferromagnetic materials retain residual magnetism after being exposed to a magnetic field (e.g., when clamped onto a magnetic chuck). This causes metal chips and dust to stick to the workpiece, which can damage tools or complicate further processing (e.g., painting, welding). Demagnetizers reliably remove this residual magnetism.

Do you provide service and revisions for your products?Do you provide service and revisions for your products?

Yes, for all our technologies, including older BUX, Walker, and Pilana brand products, we provide complete warranty and post-warranty service, repairs, overhauls, and original spare parts. We also perform mandatory periodic certifications, inspections, and load capacity testing of lifting magnets.

Do you also offer staff training?Do you also offer staff training?

Yes. As part of the delivery of our magnetic applications and large systems, we provide professional operator training to ensure that working with magnets is as efficient and safe as possible.

How is heavy goods (e.g. clamping plates) delivered? How is heavy goods (e.g. clamping plates) delivered?

Due to the higher weight of our products, we cooperate with specialized pallet and parcel carriers who ensure safe handling.

How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed? How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed?

All lifting magnets comply with the strict ČSN EN 13155 standard and operate with a safety factor of 3+. This means that in a pull-off test (the so-called Air Gap test, which simulates a real air gap/dirt in operation), the magnet can lift more than three times its declared maximum load capacity.
