      Product description

      Detail description:

Maxgrip permanent magnetic chuck is a suitable tool for clamping of different workpiece shapes during grinding, as well as turning operations. The possibility to adjust the holding force greatly facilitates centering of workpieces. Thanks to the low and very stable magnetic field can be clamped even relatively small and thin workpieces. The top plate is made of one solid unit, so there is absolutely no risk of coolant leakage into the chuck´s body. The top plate has also high regrinding limit, which ensures a very long service life.

Maxgrip permanent magnetic chuck for powerful and heavy machining

The Maxgrip permanent magnetic chuck is an ideal choice for demanding milling, planing, or rough grinding operations where extreme clamping force is required. This chuck is equipped with high-performance neodymium magnets that generate a deep and concentrated magnetic field capable of firmly securing even massive steel blocks, castings, or complex-shaped components with rougher surfaces. Thanks to the absence of electricity, Maxgrip operates completely independently of the grid, generates no internal heat, and eliminates the risk of workpiece release during power outages, ensuring maximum work safety and stable geometric accuracy without thermal expansion.

Robust construction with cross-pole architecture for maximum rigidity

The main advantage of the Maxgrip chuck from the Czech manufacturer Walmag is its robust all-metal design with transverse pole pitch. The laminated top plate, made from a combination of steel and brass, offers high resistance to mechanical wear and provides a large limit for repeated regrinding, which significantly extends the overall service life of the device. The entire construction is 100% waterproof, so the internal magnetic system is perfectly protected against aggressive coolants and sharp metal chips. Mechanical switching with a removable handle is smooth and allows the operator easy adjustment, making the Maxgrip chuck a highly effective, maintenance-free tool for every modern workshop.

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are your products made in the Czech Republic? Are your products made in the Czech Republic?

Yes, the entire process – from in-house development through design, production, to final assembly and testing – takes place directly in our plant in Kroměříž. This gives us full control over quality and allows us to flexibly tailor products to specific customer requirements.

What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems? What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems?

Permanent Magnets: Operate without electricity, activated mechanically by a lever. They are safe, mobile, and maintenance-free.
Electromagnets: Generate a magnetic field using coils powered by mains electricity. They possess immense strength, can clamp uneven surfaces, and allow force regulation, but require a constant power supply and backup sources.
Electro-permanent Magnets: Combine the advantages of both systems. They only require electric current for a fraction of a second for activation (magnetization) and deactivation. During operation itself, they do not need current, making them extremely safe even in the event of a power outage and preventing overheating.

Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures? Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures?

Conventional permanent magnets lose their strength at temperatures above 80 °C. However, for operations with higher temperatures, we offer special series (e.g. HOT lifting magnets) that can safely handle materials with temperatures up to 180 °C.

Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining? Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining?

Ferromagnetic materials retain residual magnetism after being exposed to a magnetic field (e.g., when clamped onto a magnetic chuck). This causes metal chips and dust to stick to the workpiece, which can damage tools or complicate further processing (e.g., painting, welding). Demagnetizers reliably remove this residual magnetism.

Do you provide service and revisions for your products?Do you provide service and revisions for your products?

Yes, for all our technologies, including older BUX, Walker, and Pilana brand products, we provide complete warranty and post-warranty service, repairs, overhauls, and original spare parts. We also perform mandatory periodic certifications, inspections, and load capacity testing of lifting magnets.

Do you also offer staff training?Do you also offer staff training?

Yes. As part of the delivery of our magnetic applications and large systems, we provide professional operator training to ensure that working with magnets is as efficient and safe as possible.

How is heavy goods (e.g. clamping plates) delivered? How is heavy goods (e.g. clamping plates) delivered?

Due to the higher weight of our products, we cooperate with specialized pallet and parcel carriers who ensure safe handling.

How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed? How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed?

All lifting magnets comply with the strict ČSN EN 13155 standard and operate with a safety factor of 3+. This means that in a pull-off test (the so-called Air Gap test, which simulates a real air gap/dirt in operation), the magnet can lift more than three times its declared maximum load capacity.
